About Us

Hi, I’m Steven, owner of Crighton Pet Services, and thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about us and our SERVICES.

Since establishing the business in 2018, my focus has been simple: to provide safe, structured and enriching care for every pet entrusted to me. I care for around 25 dogs each week through carefully managed group dog walks. I also have regular cat and small pet care visits for families in Edinburgh. But my main focus is the dogs I care for on a daily and weekly basis.

I believe great dog walking is about far more than just exercise and toilet breaks. Every walk is an opportunity for my dogs to build confidence, develop social skills, enjoy freedom, and have their skillset challenged and developed. We do this in a variety of safe environments, perfectly suited for their needs.

My groups are carefully matched by breed, size, temperament and energy. This allows each dog to flourish and enjoy the session at their own pace with similar dogs around them.

Over the years I’ve spent thousands of hours observing canine behaviour in real-world settings. Every walk teaches me something new, and that experience helps me make better decisions for the dogs in my care. While no two dogs are ever the same, recognising behaviour, body language, and group dynamics has become an important part of how I work.

Transparency is also a huge part of what makes Crighton Pet Services different. For every walk your dog is on, you will receive a report or Pupdate, detailing our session. This is an honest explanation of our day. Who was out, where we walked, how the session went, and what we’ve learned from the behaviour on show. It’s a useful tool - especially for new clients and first time dog owners. This report is coupled with pictures, videos, and any links to social media content captured on the day.

My YouTube channel offers an honest, behind the scenes look at how my walks operate. Rather than simply telling you how I work, I invite you to see for yourself through my content which includes livestreams. It have several thousand subscribers and over a million views. The transparency of what I do and how I do it is really important to me.

My approach is build around modern, reward based training principles and developing positive and long lasting relationships with both dogs and the owners. Trust, consistency and clear communication help create calm, enjoyable walks where dogs can thrive, and where owners can feel confident their pets are in safe hands.

Away from the business I am also a father. Starting Crighton Pet Services gave me the opportunity to build a business I am enormously proud of while creating a better balance between work and family life. That same understanding of family is something I bring into the business every day, because I know your pets aren’t “just pets” - they are an important part of your family too.

Crighton Pet Services is fully insured, registered with City of Edinburgh council, has safe transportation (including using TransK9 dog crates) and we cover Edinburgh South/West.
